It’s not just our economy that is a mess. Our security cluster is coming apart. Trumped up charges against former Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan that had to be dropped. Police Minister Fikile Mbalula is unable to get his former Hawks head Berning Ntlemeza to accept a court ruling which says he (Hawks head) is a liar and unfit to be in the Hawks.

The acting head of the South African Police Service (SAPS) , Lieutenant General Khomotso Phahlane, is the subject of a corruption probe by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid). He is also ignorant of the law and declares protests illegal when there are no such.

Mbalula is justifying providing a private citizen the service of the presidential protection at a party political gathering because of a ‘security threat’ that is at best the work of a police escort. Because she is the stated favorite of President Jacob Zuma to succeed him as leader of the African National Congress (ANC).

Moreover, the robberies at weapons depots, state security institutions, the Chief Justice’s office and legal NGO’s remain easy and no one is ever apprehended and brought to book.

Senior members of the ANC-led alliance including Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament (MP’s) and leaders of the alliance are routinely threatened by shady shadowy people. In KwaZulu Natal people are being gunned down in drive by shootings linked to tensions in the alliance.

Our security cluster is effectively paralyzed and at war with anyone opposed to the ongoing leadership of those involved in state capture under the leadership of President Jacob Zuma faction in the ANC.
