According to the SA Institute of Internal Auditors, an amount of R700 billion was lost to corruption since 1994.

While there is a staggering 25 percent of the population unemployed, and almost 45 percent of the population living in severe poverty, a whopping 700 billion was stolen.

Corruption happens all over the world, but in South Africa, the amount of money that is lost through corruption could have lowered the poverty rate, built schools, hospitals, upgraded infrastructure and a lot more.
