Now that the storms around the state capture is diminishing, the ANC appear to have plans to “hijack” the legal system.

The appointment of judges will be screened to ensure that the “correct” candidates sit on the bench. Once again, the legislation in question will be “reinterpreted: while the law is then applied by the Judicial Services Commission. The ANC believes that judges are “counter-revolutionary”.

There is intense criticism building up against the plan. “The ANC must realize that the judiciary system does not belong to them and that the ANC’s plan to radically transform the system must be opposed. Since the legal system is there to protect the citizens of the country and not to be abused by the ANC,” said Dr Corné Mulder, the FF Plus parliamentary spokesperson of Justice.

“It is clear that the ANC is not happy that the court has repeatedly called for accountability during the recent months. It is the duty of the judiciary to uphold the constitution and the law for the sake of all civilians. It is now evident that the ANC does not believe in the rule of law, but in the rule of the ANC,” said Dr. Mulder.
